First of all, you need to be away from any source of distraction. You cannot analyze your deepest feelings and thoughts and watch a movie at the same time.

Secondly, you need to ask yourself a series of questions that will help you to better determine who you really are. The questions should relate to everyday aspects.

What do you like doing?

What made you most proud of yourself during your entire life?

What is it that you always wanted to do and you never found the time?

What role does money play in your life?

What is it more important for you, you family life or your career?

How much do you depend on others?

If you are worried about a certain decision, let all the questions be related to that issue. If you are just confused when asking the questions, think about the common topics that one has to deal with during his life.

Do not forget to write down the answers. Try to concentrate and to be sincere. After all, nobody will judge you.

All these questions will help you determine exactly where you stand and what is it that you want form life. All you have to do is to get the right interpretation of your own replies.

In order to do that, help yourself to a coup of tea or your favorite coffee and take the time to analyze them thoroughly. Mark with a red pen whatever you find pride worthy answers and with a black one the things that do not make you proud.

Post the list somewhere where you can see it more than once a day, or post it in more than one place.

The Dream of Endless Envy

The Dream of Endless Envy

There was a stonecutter who saw a rich man.
Envious of his wealth, he suddenly became the rich man.
As he was travelling in his carriage, it had to stop to let an official go first.
Envious of his status, he suddenly became the official.
As he travelled on, he felt hot from the heat of the sun.
Envious of its glory, he suddenly became the sun.
As he was shining on, a huge dark cloud covered him.
Envious, he suddenly became the cloud.
As he was floating in the sky, the wind pushed him along.
Envious of its power, he suddenly became the wind.
As he was drifting on, he was forced to go around a mountain.
Envious of its strength, he suddenly became the mountain.
As he was sitting satisfied, he felt something chipping him.
Shocked, he suddenly awoke to be the stonecutter he was.
It had all been part of an enlightening dream.

Is Your Love True

Is Your Love True?

A Queen was looking through the palace window at the Buddha walking for alms food in the city. The King saw her and grew jealous of her devotion to the Great Monk. He confronted the Queen and demanded to know who she loved most, the Buddha or her husband? She was a devoted disciple of the Buddha, but in those days you had to be very careful if your husband was the King. Losing your head means losing your head. She kept her head and replied with searing honesty, 'I love myself more than both of you.'
The trouble with romance is that when the fantasy is broken, the disappointment can badly hurt us. In romantic love, we don't really love our partner, we only love the way they make us feel. It is the 'high' we feel in their presence that we love... Like any 'high'. it wears out after a while.

True love is selfless love. We are concerned only for the other person. We tell them, 'The door of my heart will always be open to you, whatever you do', and we mean it. We just want them to be happy. True love is rare. Many of us like to think that our special relationship is true love, not romantic love. Here is a test for you to discover what type of love it is.

Think of your partner. Picture them in your mind. Recall the day you came together and the wonderful times you have enjoyed ever since. Now imagine receiving a letter from your partner. It tells you they have fallen deeply in love with your best friend, and the two of them have run away to live together. How would you feel? If it were true love, you woukd be thrilled that your partner has found someone even better than you, and is now even more happy. You could be delighted that your partner and best friend were having such a good time together. You'd be ecstatic that they were in love. Isn't your partner's happiness the most important thing in true love? True love is rare.
